A journey that started in no more than a double garage, but with a tremendous passion to bring great coffee to our clients, and continues today within the largest food franchise network in Africa, the Famous Brands Group.
About Us
The Famous Brands Coffee Company
We started this business in 2007 with a 15kg gas roaster and little more than a double garage worth of space and a bucketload of passion for roasting the great coffee we produce! We were fortunate to secure the Netcare group as our first major client and gradually grew our roasting capacity from there. Along the way we also developed awesome hot chocolate, milk powders and smoothie mixes for our clients.
BARNEY's ARMY
We are proud to have worked with the John Smit Foundation to support John’s quest to help those in need. The Foundation provides support to children and youth in many ways and Barney’s Blend was developed with John to support fundraising for his Foundation and especially the South African Rugby Legends who support rugby development across South Africa.We also support the John Smit Foundation in other ways.

Nothing is more important than the health and wellbeing of our clients. For that reason we have implemented the FSSC 22000 standard.
This internationally recognised food safety standard should give you confidence that our products are produced to the highest food safety standards.

Loba Coffee Range
We constantly look for new offerings and bring these to life through our special promotions. The Loba range was inspired by our love for the wonders that each continent holds. Each coffee represents a place that we hold close to our hearts… from the highlands of Ethiopia to the forests of the Rwandan Virunga region… and on to the Indonesian islands… or humid central south American summer…. we source our coffee from outstanding coffee farms in each of them. Loba “the Muse”.
Distributors
We are continually looking for independent entrepreneurs to join us in areas where we are not present as a company. The opportunity exists to distribute coffee and coffee accessories and to sell coffee machinery. Our growing coffee machine rental and technical service division also presents an opportunity for sustained income.
